1) What is a scaffolding alarm?

A scaffolding alarm is a temporary security system designed to deter and detect unauthorised access to scaffolding, helping reduce risks such as theft, vandalism, arson and dangerous trespass (especially by children).

2) What does your scaffolding alarm hire service include?

Our scaffold alarm uses battery and solar powered 4G wireless systems and includes visual verification cameras to identify real threats and reduce false alarms associated with traditional sensor systems. 24-hour monitoring is included in the weekly rental, and there’s no minimum hire period.

3) Do your scaffold alarms need mains power, Wi‑Fi, or a phone line?

No. Our systems are standalone and do not require telephone, electricity, Wi‑Fi, or broadband—ideal for scaffolds and sites without services connected.

4) How do the cameras reduce false alarms?

Instead of relying on sensors that can be prone to nuisance triggers, our systems use cameras for visual verification, helping confirm genuine threats and reduce unnecessary call-outs and disturbances.

5) How loud is the siren and what’s the deterrent setup?

Systems come complete with a 110db siren and strobe to deter intruders and trespassers. The siren is remotely controlled and is typically activated in short bursts to deter offenders without upsetting neighbours.

6) Is monitoring included—and when does it operate?

Yes. 24-hour monitoring is included in the weekly rental, including monitoring outside of working hours to help protect your site overnight and at weekends.

7) What happens when the system detects a threat?

When a potential threat is identified, the system supports prompt response—including security key holder and police response where appropriate—enabled by our remote monitoring service.

8) What if we don’t have local keyholders?

If you don’t have local keyholders, we can arrange a local security company to attend and deal with intruders on your behalf.

9) What types of sites do you protect with scaffolding alarms?

Our scaffolding alarm hire helps protect a wide range of sites and properties, including construction sites, demolition sites, vacant properties, churches, historic buildings, and fire damaged properties.

10) Can you protect more than just the scaffold (e.g., compounds or adjacent areas)?

Yes. Our 4G wireless, solar/battery powered security camera systems can also help protect site compounds or adjoining areas where you need additional coverage.

11) Do you offer construction site security cameras as well as scaffold alarms?

Yes. In addition to scaffold alarms, we provide security camera/CCTV hire and construction site security services, using 4G wireless, solar and battery powered standalone camera systems with remote monitoring.

12) Do you offer security guards and dog handlers?

Yes. We can provide construction site security guards and dog handlers, and on larger sites this can be combined with monitored cameras to reduce risk of losses, vandalism, arson attacks, or trespass.

13) Is there a minimum hire period for your scaffold alarms?

No—there is no minimum hire period, making it flexible for short projects, urgent installs, or changing scaffold programmes.

14) Where do you provide scaffolding alarm hire?

We provide scaffolding alarm and temporary site security camera systems for hire across London, the South, South East, South West and the Midlands.

15) Why choose a 4G wireless scaffold alarm instead of a traditional wired alarm?

A 4G wireless system is fast to deploy and practical on changing scaffolds—especially where there’s no power, phone line, Wi‑Fi or broadband available. It also supports visual verification via cameras to help reduce false alarms.

16) Will the siren disturb neighbours or nearby residents?

The system includes a powerful 110db siren and strobe, but it’s typically activated in short bursts to deter intruders while avoiding prolonged noise disturbance.

17) Who are Scaffolding Alarms UK?
